Create your own solo for Purple Haze! You will create a 16 measure solo for Purple Haze and perform it in class. -use elements from the piece including parts of the melody, rhythm, or extended technique sounds -your solo must be on the instrument you play in orchestra -your solo may be fully composed, partially composed, or completely improvised -you will be given a (20 point quiz) grade for your performance (full credit will be given to everyone who completes the assignment) -you may volunteer to play as early as Friday 5/6 -Ms. Jayson will begin calling on people starting on Monday, 5/9 -solos may not have more than two consecutive measures of rest We are using the chords (Fmaj Fmaj Ab Maj ,Bb maj) from letter "A" (mm. 11-14) as our accompaniment The solo section(s) will be inserted between mm. 41 and 42 (before the violins move to col legno).
