Elections will be tomorrow at the end of class. You will select  TWO choices for presidents.

Susie Kim, violin

Hey guys! My name’s Susie and I am a sophomore. As a newbie, I feel that being president would be a great opportunity to familiarize myself with the members of the orchestra. If I become president, I would definitely be interested in making and ordering Symphony t-shirts. Also, I’d love to host several Orchestra Breakfasts and other events/outings so that everyone can get to socialize, have fun, and get to know each other better.

To sum it all up, if you vote for me, I will do the best of my abilities to serve and work with you guys. Thanks!

Emily Edelstein, Viola

Hey all! I'm Emily, I'm a junior, and you should vote for me because I'm a seasoned Symph verteran and I know the way things work around here, what worked last year and what we can improve on. I was also one of the project directors of last year's orchestra BBQ so I know how to organize that and other events! If elected president, I will plan super awesome breakfasts and other bonding-type things, organize the ordering of amazing orchestra sw@g, and motivate us all to work our hardest to bring down the house at our concerts. If you believe in everything this orchestra can become, everything this orchestra can accomplish, and everything this orchestra can represent, then believe in Emily Edelstein for Symphony Orchestra President.

Holden Bruce, Bass

As president, I have 2 major goals:

1) Make the people of Symphony Orchestra not just fellow musicians, but a close-knit group of friends. We will have a bunch of fun outings such as team breakfasts, movie nights, and of course, the end of the year BBQ!

2) I believe that having a music department at our school is a great privilege, and as members of this department we should work to make it even better. So throughout the year I plan to host many fundraisers, and the money we raise will be put towards our outings, the end of the year BBQ, and the program as a whole.

Elect me as president, and we can strengthen the orchestra community.

JiMin Ko, Viola

Vote for me for orchestra president. If I am elected, I will strive to solely represent the voice of the people, listening to all ideas and fighting to make them a reality. In addition, I will help organize orchestra events and gatherings. Finally, I have a lot of free time so I will be able to devote time to being an orchestra president.

Pavi Chari, Violin

I would like to be elected because as a returning member of Symphonic, I have some experience to fall back on.  So far in class, we've talked about all the various things we do in Symphonic - like how this is an honors class, and we have homework, and we have big scary auditions.  But we've missed what makes us the coolest orchestra in LHS - our awesome gear, breakfasts, and how there is no most important member in orchestra, because everyone plays a part.  I'd love to take a more active role in helping us have a really great year both in music and in fun, and I would do my best to make passionate, motivating, inspirational speeches (and I'm a senior, so I really have nothing else to do).

Augie Sherman, Cello

I would love to be one of the Symphonic Orchestra presidents! As one of the presidents of Rep Orchestra last year, I helped to plan a fun, celebratory Orchestra BBQ. I believe that relaxed bonding activities outside of class create productive and focused rehearsals in school. Friends and family know me as an outgoing, organized, and creative student, so I'd love to step up and be a leader this year!
